Volunteers with the DeClutter program have a unique opportunity to help individuals and families throughout Centre County. Volunteers may come into the home and work with the participants at all stages of the project, but are especially needed during sorting and organization. This may be an individual or group commitment. All volunteers will have an orientation to the program and sign an agreement to protect the confidentiality of the program participants. Internship opportunities also exist with the DeClutter Program. Interns will accompany DeClutter staff on home visits and other meetings pertaining to clients. An intern will shadow the DeClutter staff member, initially observing and later discussing the sessions. Gradually, the intern will co-conduct the home visits, with the opportunity to independently conduct sessions with supervision from the DeClutter staff by the end of his or her internship. Interns will be responsible for completing required paperwork, which accompanies the position.
