April 12, 2008 "On the Fly" PA Fly-Fishing Tournament, May 12, 2008 On Monday, May 12, 2008
Wayne Harpster & Family, Lee Industries and Pepsi-Cola present the
12th annual On The Fly PA Flyfishers Tournament. Wayne Harpster and his family offer their private
waters of the premiere Spruce Creek for our tournament. This unique one-fly tournament
begins with a champagne
breakfast, 2 fishing sessions, and lunch before concluding with light hors
d'oeuvres and the awards presentation. A team consists
of 4 individuals with a rotating schedule of fishing, the
legendary Joe Humphreys presents seminars and
casting tactics; stream entomology, and fly tying
demonstrations are also on site. A 4-person team
registration is $1600.
All day tickets, banquet tickets, and other sponsorship
opportunities are available. M & T Bank, Forever Broadcasting, and many other sponsors, have come together to bring Central Pennsylvania’s 23rd annual Last Cruise & Motorcycle Show to the Mount Nittany Middle School, Boalsburg on Saturday, July 26, 2008. This event draws over 400 motor heads, car buffs and motorcycles to show off their impressive tricked out vehicles and bikes. Awards are given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in over 40 different vehicle and “tuner” classes, including a military class. The day starts at 7:00am with registration and judging begins at 1:00pm. The awards are presented at 4:30pm. The Corvette Club presents a People Choice Award, so vote for your favorite Corvette! Don’t forget the stereo competition, which tests the sound quality and pressure levels in a show entry’s vehicle. The biker games are a favorite among visitors. Take a historic tour of the military museum and shop the diamond. Enjoy the day in Boalsburg; bring your appetite, blankets, chairs, family and friends and check out the fun! Other sponsorship opportunities are available. "On the Field" Sporting Clay Tournament, September 19, 2008 The YSB presents the 8th annual On The Field PA Sporting Clays Tournament. A picnic lunch begins the tournament followed by a practice session and a 12:30pm shotgun start. The tournament is played at Hillendale Hunt Club in Tyrone, Pennsylvania on a 17-station course with 100 clay targets. The evening concludes with hors d'oeuvres, an auction showcase, followed by awards and the banquet. Pewter awards are the favorite among shooters and presented to team champion, lady champion and individuals. Banquet tickets and other sponsorship opportunities are available. YSB Special Events
are held rain or shine. Because these are charitable events, no refunds
will be made if it becomes impossible to complete the event due to adverse
weather or circumstances beyond the event committee's control. All these events promote a friendly atmosphere and camaraderie between new and old friends with the ambition of empowering children. These events raise funds needed to maintain the broad range of programs and community-based services of the Centre County Youth Service Bureau, which includes the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program. The Youth Service Bureau is a non-profit human service agency and serves over 2,500 children, youth, and families every year and will continue to serve Centre County and surrounding counties as it has since 1967. |
