| Painting for Arts Fest
Alexander
Construction hosted this fun painting activity for BBBS
kids. The paintings of nature scenes were displayed at the
Arts Festival in downtown State College. What a great way to
encourage kids and help them explore new talents! We’re sure
they enjoyed seeing their work get so much attention. Thank
you Alexander Construction! |

Jeans
for Teens 2009
Jeans for Teens is a program that gives youth ages 9 to
15 a chance to buy new, high-quality school clothes. The
unique one-day event takes place every year in November and
matches Penn State “shopping buddies” with local kids. The
program offers an opportunity for university students to
connect with the local community and serve youth in need. To
donate to Jeans for Teens, please contact the Centre County
United Way at 238-8283. To volunteer, please contact the
Youth Service Bureau at 237-5731.

| Bridging the Summer Gap
While
school is out, a number of our Bigs from site-based programs
at area schools will be “Bridging the Summer Gap.” Bigs are
encouraged to keep regular contact with their Littles
throughout the summer, and those staying in the area can
participate in BBBS activities. Thanks to all of our Bigs
who made new friends this school year! |
