De Clutter Project Stages
Agreement:
The project begins when the family or individual agrees that they
would like to be involved in the program and sign a release form.
The referring worker sends the release form and a referral form to
the DeClutter coordinator. DeClutter staff will then contact the
participant to set up the first meeting.
Sorting:
The participants and DeClutter staff work together to identify what
areas of the home need organization. Work sessions are scheduled.
DeClutter staff and volunteers help the family or individual sort
the clutter.
Organization:
The participants decide what changes they want to make and the team
helps each family or individual reach their vision. Steps include:
-
Deciding what is the function of each
room in the home.
-
Deciding what items are needed for
that function.
-
Deciding what each room needs in order
to keep belongings organized.
This stage can take one or many visits and is not complete until the
home is organized.
Maintenance:
With assistance of the DeClutter staff, the participant/s evaluate
the change in their home and create a long term plan to keep the
home organized.
Follow Up:
DeClutter
staff will come for a follow-up visit/visits to see how the plan is
working and provide support to the family or individual as needed.
